Maintenance Games
« on: February 26, 2014, 02:24:44 PM »
Tonight during maintenance I am going to try finish Catherine. I'm on to the last stage.

For those unfamiliar, Catherine is one of those ones where you can be good or evil and there are alternative endings depending on where you rank on the moral scale.  Your actions can save or kill surrounding characters who are fighting then nightmares with you.

Game play wise, the nightmares are puzzle stages that rank in difficultly as you progress. They're incredibly frustrating yet weirdly rewarding. It's not a very long game, to be honest, but the puzzles can deff trip you up.

What are you guys playing?

I'll probably sit down and check out some of the original thief. that or finally try to beat soul sacrifice

failing that, I might sit down and read some of at the mountains of madness

Original Thief? What is that? I seen the demo for the Thief that's about to come out...

I have to say, as someone who enjoys running in throwing punches in a blaze of a glory with little or no finesse, being a shadowy assassin sounds like a whole heap of patience I would struggle with.

the new reboot just looks bad, so I figured I'd sink some time into the original games by looking glass studios from back in the 90s

Fucking typical that the DAY AFTER I start logging in again, there is a maintenance.

Having finished FF13-3, I don't really want to pick up another game tonight....because that'll just mean I dont log in for another two weeks while I play that instead  :rek:

I did that last week then promptly uninstalled.

Anyone else play Battlefield 4? Add Chapenbovet and we can throw C4 at people.

Catherine completed last maintenance. The ending I got was really fucked up and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Welp, guess I'm back to Lightning Returns tonight! Come ON PS4, bring something good out already, shit.

Finished off Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons last night (PSN/PC)

Good lord what a moving game. I am still thinking about it.

Its pretty short, about 5 hours I guess. Trying not to spoil the shit outta things for anyone who hasn't played it but I REALLY WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT so you should all go play it now kthnx.

I played facebook games then got bored and carried on reading the Night's Dawn trilogy by Peter F Hamilton (they are pretty hefty tomes). My gaming these days consists almost entirely of FF14  :rek: :rek:

When the price drops further on Dark Souls II I'm on it, and also keen to pick up FF13-3 when I need another break from 14.

Peter F Hamilton books are huge. They take up an entire shelf on on of my bookcases. So awesome though. I re-read the original Dragonlance books last night.
I'm just saying that by any sane metric, Gendo Ikari is the best dad in the universe.

Winning! Always have a soft spot for Dragonlance as it was my first fantasy series of books that I read (sorry LoTR / Hobbit)
