Spirit Bonding
« on: May 07, 2014, 07:01:53 AM »
Hey guys, I've been wanting to learn how to efficiently SB like some of the rest of you. I'd like to help FC bank and my bank aswell.
I understand if this is a well guarded secret but if you could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful

Beastman mobs, or anything 50 ish give the fastest bonding. It'll go faster if you have HQ gear by 20% I think? and then another 20% if you meld materia into it (yay shitty cheap lvl 1 materia) and also 20% from FC buff I believe? Makes for 20 minute bonding or less really. Grab the potion from your GC for +3 spiritbond and wear the gamblers crown for another +1 (dunno how much difference that makes really).

Most of us bond with crafting gear but the market for that has been super shit lately, gathering materia (leather sets) sells higher but takes a little longer to sell. Things like tourmaline and all those sets convert into materia needed for relics but also some useless materia (yay elemental) so you have to hope for the best rng luck.

Spiritbonding item lvl45+ can convert into lvl 3 and 4 materia which sell the best but you have to kill mobs +-6 levels of the gear you are bonding for the best speed.

Mostly hope the rng gods favour you, pick whatever is cheap to buy or make or whats selling well materia wise and lose your mind grinding mobs eternally (and level your choco buddy because he needs love too)!

Don't undercut by hundreds of gil... someone has completely destroyed the marketboard :(

IV went from 109k to 60k.... it's probably 40-50 now :\

Undercutting is a disgustingly common behaviour regardless of what server you play on, I usually stick with the players who have mass crafted and attempted to set a fixed price point, this results in some seriously slow sales sometimes, but if the price isn't over the top, it will sell eventually.

That materia price drop is crazy! If it doesn't recover any time soon I'll be taking up spirit bonding anyway to start melding my own crafters gear in a very slow but far more cost effective fashion :D

If other people constantly selling materia for 60k causes the 100k materia to never sell, it just means the supply-demand curve has probably shifted. If there is enough demand, eventually it would outstrip the amount of materia the 60k sellers can put on the market and cause people to resort to higher price purchases.

yeah but now everyone is spirit bonding which means there's more and more materia on the market, which means more and more douchey undercutters.

you could always buy all the 60k ones and resell for 100k lol... risky though :P

Yeah I also believe supply is increasing as many come to see spirit bonding crafting gear as one of the more time effective money making strategies. And the demand is only coming from very rich players who can blow millions of gil.

Buying up the cheap stuff and reselling is an option, but you'd need some serious gil to invest to drive the prices back up.

I usually put mine at 100k and just sit on them until they sell. Also everyone lynch mob Gaise for having godly rng luck.

There's a +3 SB ring from a quest in Bronze Lake. Didn't think much of it at the time, but maybe it helps?

I'm just saying that by any sane metric, Gendo Ikari is the best dad in the universe.

The main problem with it is that is occupies a slot that you could be spiritbonding in :D

The Aetheryte rings would be great, but they give regular materia not crafting, despite them having CP on them. :(
