Gardening "The serious Business"
« on: May 13, 2014, 10:01:14 AM »
Hello Friends!

This is an informational post about GARDENING, large text needed. :) all information is stuff I have read from the interwebs.

We have 2 gardening plots of land so far, one 6 plot and one 8 plot.

Anyone in the free company can tend, and fertilize the plants and only certain ranks can harvest, plant  and remove crops.

The first thing you can do is plant a seedling into one of the many spots on a plot of farm land. When plating a seed you are prompted to select 2 things. One is the seed you wish to plant and the other is a top soil. Seeds can be gathered from botany, and top soil from mining. There are many kinds of seeds you can gather. And there are 3 kinds of soil with 3 grades for each soil.

List of Soils and what they do

--Noscean Topsoil: Increases the likelihood that plants will yield higher quality crops. (MORE HQ ITEMS).
--Shroud topsoil: Increases the likelihood that plants will yield more craps. (MORE ITEMS)
--Thanalan Topsoil: Increases the likelihood that plants will inter cross with one another. (BETTER INTERCROSSING)

There are 3 grades of topsoil, grade one from level 30 nodes, grade 2 from level 46 nodes and grade 3 from unspoiled.

After a seed is planted you can do a few things, Fertilize crop, tend crop and remove crop

Tend crop: so what this does is keep the plant from drying up. I have read reports of people watering once and doing nothing up to 16 hours with no change in the plant status. also you can not over water and you can tend a max of once per hour. (this is like cure for the plants hp and time damages the plant so keep them tended).

Fertilize crop: this one is super important to keep on top of since this reduced the time needed for plants to grow. You can fertilize a max once per hour and i have no idea if you can over fertilize a crop. the time it reduces a plants growth is unconfirmed but i heard anywhere from about an hour earth time to more or less of that. (I am not sure on how long it takes to grow a plant but lets say 5 days earth time as an example. If you fertilize every hour you could in theory cut the growth time in half.)

Remove Crop: deletes the plant with no yield

once a plant is fully grown you will get new options to harvest.

Inter crossing plants is still in the testing phases as players need to see what is gained from what plants need to beside other plants. so experiment lots!!!

I would like to grow inter crossed plants as soon as possible. and make some gil for the free company so people can buy their rooms when they come out as well as crafting stations. I would also like to set up the gil to be used  for repair bills for people who do end game content. other ideas are welcome :)
