After getting to level 50 crafting there are 3 steps you need to do to master a crafting job.
Then you'll need to do two more quests:
Submission ImpossibleJust Tooling Around1st Step you need to max meld your equipment.I found that this is the best way to meld, this is base on the fact that you rely on high tier materia to safe money on lost materia. This is the step that cost a lot of money since you can lose 100+k on overmelding.
For head you'll want to aim to get Artisan's Spectacles which can be used for all crafting jobs.
However you'll need to meld your head gear at least once.
The following list is the attribute will get you to Craftmanship 391 and Control 374 which is required to craft 3 stars items.
The numbers in the brackets is the extra attribute that you can still get.
Otherwise it is already maxed out.

1st Overmeld: 45% (I), 41% (II), 35% (III), 29% (IV)
2nd Overmeld: 24% (I), 22% (II), 19% (III), 16% (IV)
3rd Overmeld: 14% (I), 13% (II), 11% (III), 10% (IV)
4th Overmeld: 8% (I), 8% (II), 7% (III), 6% (IV)
2nd Unlock Master RecipeYou'll need to make 5 of these item in HQ. The requirement is [Craftsmanship Required: 347]
One of these HQ item usually sells around 60k in Market Place.
Other then the basic material, you'll also need some item from dungeon or company seals.
3rd Obtain Artisan's GearYou'll need to make 50 of these item in HQ. The requirement is [Craftsmanship: 347 Control: 318]
This is the step that cost the least amount of money since you can gather most of these material yourself.
